“It’s really obvious that David engages those that he works with in the creative process since they seem to have a real ownership of the work, which is a real skill and a challenge within the timescales he has for developing work. His work is accessible and engaging for those with and without experience in dance, either as a participant and audience member. This is often difficult to accomplish, so is a real asset. The physicality of his work is attractive, as is the “rawness” that it sometimes incorporates. In relation to this, the genre/approach seems to make it relevant to young people and specifically those deemed “at risk of exclusion”.
