Artistic Director, David McKenna formed Beingfrank Physical Theatre in 2003. The company embarked on a project called Boys2Dance, which explored a number of ideas designed to enthuse boys and young men to dance. This project, sponsored by West Midland Arts, toured to schools and colleges throughout 2003 and 2004 with great success. As a result of this the company, based in Leamington Spa, has rapidly established itself as an outstanding facilitator of dance and physical theatre education in the West Midlands.
Beingfrank has created a number of accomplished performances that have toured to small and middle scale venues. A Beingfrank production aims to be stimulating to the broadest audience. It aims to be visually arresting, exciting and experimental and is committed to developing its choreography through collaboration with other artists and art forms.
David Mckenna has also created work for Mobius Dance, Mould (2005), a video instillation piece for Brazen Dance called Decsurveillance and has just completed a six month tour as rehearsal director for Motionhouse Dance Theatre.
